Who&rsquo;s eligible for booster shots?

 <li>People ages 5&ndash;17 years: Should receive 1 booster dose at least 5 months after the second primary series dose, for a total of 3 doses. The Pfizer vaccine is the only vaccine approved for children 5 and older.</li>
 <li>People ages 18&ndash;49 years: Should receive 1 booster dose at least 5 months after the second primary series dose, for a total of 3 doses.</li>
 <li>People ages 50 years and older: Should receive 2 booster doses. The first should be administered at least 5 months after completion of the primary series and the second at least 4 months after the first booster dose, for a total of 4 doses.</li>

The CDC has created <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/downloads/COVID-19-vacc-schedule-at-a-glance-508.pdf">two recommended vaccine schedules</a> for those who are not&nbsp;moderately or severely immunocompromised and those who are immunocompromised. 
Vaccines remain the best public health measure to protect individuals from COVID-19 and its variants. All FDA-approved or authorized vaccines are expected to be effective against severe illness, hospitalizations, and deaths. The CDC continues to recommend that all eligible adults, adolescents, and children 5 and older be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines, which includes getting an initial booster when eligible.
