Hypotension is the name given to blood pressure that is abnormally low.
Generally, blood pressure readings of less than 120 over 80 mm Hg are considered best for adults, according to the <a href="[BASEDOMAIN]/healthinfo/bouncelink.aspx?shortcut=aha" target="_blank">American Heart Association</a>. 
In most people, blood pressure isn't too low until it produces symptoms such as light-headedness or fainting.&nbsp;Causes of hypotension include shock, bleeding, infection and endocrine disorders such as&nbsp;Addison's disease. 
Low blood pressure isn't necessarily a bad thing. Talk to your doctor about any questions or concerns you have about blood pressure. And get regular medical checkups so a professional can measure your blood pressure.
