Education is a positive predictor of health, employment, and overall quality of life. To inspire Arizona&rsquo;s youth and support a brighter future, Blue Cross&reg;&nbsp;Blue Shield&reg;&nbsp;of Arizona, in partnership with Fiesta Bowl, is accepting applications for the Empowering Diversity Scholarship through April 28.
Created in 2020 to support educational attainment for deserving minority students in Arizona while fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the Empowering Diversity Scholarship has awarded $173,000 to 46 students in just the past two years. The scholarship provides two educational pathways:

 <li style="text-align: left;">Post-secondary scholarship package: $5,000 toward future educational expenses at an Arizona institution, plus $500 for wraparound program support provided by an Arizona mentoring agency</li>
 <li style="text-align: left;">General Education Development (GED) scholarship package: $200 in support for high school diploma or equivalency, plus $500 for wraparound program support provided by an Arizona mentoring agency</li>
