The NSA applies to three services
provided by healthcare providers and facilities which include emergency,
non-emergency, and out-of-network air ambulance items/services.
So, what does this mean for you? 
<ul>
 <li>For claims covered under the NSA, you are no
 longer liable for out-of-network balance bills (the difference between what
 your plan pays and the provider&rsquo;s billed charge.) </li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>You will only be responsible for paying your
 in-network cost-share, based on &ldquo;the qualifying payment amount,&rdquo; which is a
 rate determined through a methodology specified by federal law.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
 <li>You can&rsquo;t be balanced billed and will only pay
 your expected cost share. Both payers and providers must compromise to achieve
 a reasonable level of reimbursement, or an arbitrator will do it for them.</li>

Member ID Card Changes
While the NSA aims to relieve the
stress of unexpected medical billing surprises, it does come with a few other changes.
Recently, you may have noticed member ID cards look a little different. Most
notably, copays were removed to include plan deductible amounts and maximum
out-of-pocket costs.

Choose My Benefits, then Summary of Benefits and Coverage to view
your copay amounts.

You might
also notice &ldquo;AZDOI&rdquo; at the bottom of the card. That is a requirement from the
State of Arizona for fully insured group plans.
