AZ Blue Commits $100K to Tackle Food Insecurity
PHOENIX, AZ — In response to ongoing food insecurity and uncertainty around SNAP benefits, AZ Blue committed $100,000 to ensure more Arizonans have access to nutritious meals.
This funding filled various food banks with essential items throughout the state including Maricopa, Pima, Coconino, Cochise, Pinal, Gila, and Apache counties through partners such as Local First, Salvation Army, and Arizona Food Bank Network.
“Everyone deserves the security of a healthy meal without sacrificing other essentials,” said Paul Penzone, VP, Chief Community Relations Officer at AZ Blue. “We’re stepping up to ensure that our neighbors have the resources they need during these challenging times.”
Nearly 900,000 Arizonans—including families, seniors, and veterans—depend on SNAP each month. AZ Blue understands that nutritious food is more than a necessity—it’s fundamental to health and well-being.
