AZ Blue Foundation Awards $275,000 to Expand Care Across Arizona
Too many Arizonans still struggle to get the care they need – from mental health support to basic services. To help close those gaps, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Foundation gave $275,000 to seven groups that work to improve care across the state.
These funds help a range of efforts, such as mental health outreach, language support, and health education.
In Pima County, notMYkid is growing its early intervention program, Project REWIND, to reach more families. The program helps teens who have used substances get support and tools – giving families help before a crisis hits.
“We are in a race against time. Every day we delay early intervention; we risk losing more young lives,” said Sarah Grado, Executive Director of notMYkid. “Thanks to AZ Blue, we’re bringing life-saving education, support, and hope directly into the homes of Pima County families. Early intervention works. It saves lives. And with this support, we’re making sure no family is left behind.”
This work comes at a key time, as deaths related to fentanyl use and teen mental health struggles continue to impact communities across the state.
The seven grant recipients include organizations focused on increasing educational attainment and fueling the workforce pipeline to graduate more healthcare professionals to provide care for Arizonans.
