What you need to know about 2026 Medicare Supplement renewals
Our annual Medicare Supplement Renewal was April 1st. Your clients received a letter from us the week of February 9th announcing the renewal. The letter and other important links are available below.
What You Need to Know for 2026:
- The Household Discount remains 7% for policies sold after 2018. (Link to HH Discount Form)
- Reminder–Your clients’ premiums will not increase on their birthdays – only at renewal. Members receiving the Early Enrollment Discount will have a rate lock from 4/1/2026 - 4/1/2027. For 2026 and beyond, the reduction in the early-enrollment discount will occur only during the annual renewal date.
- Members do not have to do anything unless they want to make changes to their plan.
- Renewals for new sales are paid for the life of the continuously enrolled member.
Why are premium rates increasing?
Premium increases reflect a record-breaking increase in the cost of healthcare: Prescriptions, doctor visits, and hospital stays are rising.

What are the options if members want to change their plan or can’t afford the premium rate increase?
There are two options available for members who want to change their plan to reduce their premium rate:
- They can switch to a plan of lesser value that does not require them to go through underwriting, except for changes to Plans C* or G. The member just needs to submit a signed Medicare Supplement Plan Transfer Form to our enrollment team. Please see note below regarding an important change for plan transfers into Plan C.
- The transfer form can be found below under "Important Links." Agents are encouraged to assist members by faxing the signed transfer form to our enrollment department at 602-864-4041 or emailing the request to our Broker Support team at BCBSBRKSupport@azblue.com.
- Members within the Old Block (policies written prior to 2018) can switch to a plan in the New Block that requires them to go through underwriting and submit a new application, which is subject to approval.
Members can change their plan at any time throughout the year if the request to change is received by AZ Blue by the end of the month for a first-of-the-following-month effective date. For more information regarding the plan transfer options available to your client(s), please refer to the updated grid and transfer form.
*PLEASE NOTE: March 31st will be the last day plan transfers into Plan C will be accepted. Any requests received on 4/1 or after must be for Plans D or N.
