Augmentative And Alternative Communication (AAC)
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), or speech-generating devices, help when natural speech doesn’t meet daily communication goals and needs. Primary Care Providers (PCPs) will assist members and refer them to the appropriate Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices (AAC) and Speech Therapy providers who can conduct medically necessary evaluations and supply the devices. Providers can reference the following groups to access AAC evaluation and devices. AAC devices are an AHCCCS-covered benefit.
* Prior Authorization may be required for the Provider or AAC devices
