Walking works - in a lot of ways. A brisk-paced walk can help you and your family
look and feel better, increase energy, and pick up your spirits.
WalkingWorks is an exciting program that is available
at no cost to anyone who is
interested in improving their health through walking. It was
developed in cooperation with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and the President's
Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. This simple program is designed to help people
"step up" their level of physical activity by integrating walking into their daily routines.
By registering for WalkingWorks, you'll have access to valuable information and motivational
tools to help you start – and continue – a regular walking routine.

BCBSAZ is pleased to offer you new and improved tools
and resources to help you "step up" your level of physical
activity by integrating walking into your daily routine.
The new and improved WalkingWorks program is hosted by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and offers a host of exciting enhancements.
What’s New
Using the Individual Online
Tracking tool, you can enter your individual walking progress as total steps or
minutes walked, view progress toward individual goals and access resources such
as printable activity tracking charts, goal reports, Body Mass Index (BMI) calculators
and informational Web sites.
If you indicated you are
part of a participating employer during the registration process you can also engage
in competitive challenges and see how your team is doing.
What Changed
Previously, participants could earn incentive items such as pedometers, t-shirts
or water bottles based upon achieving activity milestones.These items are no longer available through the new WalkingWorks program.
However, Blue Cross Blue Shield members
can purchase a pedometer at a discounted price via a link on the WalkingWorks Web
site.
